Restauro do Mercado Municipal entra na fase final

Há 114 anos, o Mercado Municipal de Itu abria suas portas para os ituanos e turistas, fomentando ainda mais o comércio da cidade e região. A inauguração aconteceu no dia 14 de maio de 1905.

Desde então, o ‘Mercadão’ nunca passou por um restauro propriamente dito. Três projetos foram apresentados ao Governo Estadual, em 2005, 2007 e 2010, mas não tiveram prosseguimento. Houve somente um projeto de preservação que surgiu por um TAC (Termo de Ajustamento de Conduta), devido às pequenas obras que aconteceram, como a abertura de portas e janelas para o lado de fora, diante à rua Santa Cruz, nada além disso.

Em junho de 2018, o tão esperado restauro começou a acontecer. Em entrevista ao Imprensa Aberta, o secretário de Turismo, Lazer e Eventos, Vinícius Salton, disse que a obra estava em pauta desde o início do atual governo e “vimos na verba do DADETUR (Departamento de Apoio ao Desenvolvimento dos Municípios Turísticos) uma boa oportunidade”. Segundo o secretário, o fato das obras terem iniciado somente no meio do ano passado foi devido à demora da finalização dos convênios diante o Condephaat (Conselho de Defesa do Patrimônio Histórico, Arqueológico, Artístico e Turístico), o DADETUR, o COC (Conselho de Orientação e Controle do Fundo de Melhoria das Estâncias) e Iphan (Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional), que ocorreu em novembro de 2017. A partir daí iniciou-se o processo licitatório, cujo a empresa Concrejato foi a vencedora. O valor concedido para a reforma foi de R$ 4.818.065,98.

Um ponto que tem trazido incômodo aos populares e comerciantes é o prazo da entrega do Mercado Municipal restaurado. Em conversa com ambos os públicos, eles se mostraram impacientes. Um popular disse que a reforma está afastando quem frequentava o local e os turistas. Já um comerciante da área externa – que preferiu não se identificar – comentou que perdeu e está perdendo seus clientes e que a prefeitura não dá nenhum tipo de auxílio. Ele reforça que fechar as portas externas e deixa-las para o lado de dentro vai diminuir o fluxo de fregueses.

De acordo com a estimativa do secretário Vinícius, a obra será entregue ainda neste ano, entre novembro e dezembro, dentro do prazo final, que termina em abril de 2020 (20 meses). “A parte estrutural estava muito pior do que a gente imaginava. O Mercado Municipal necessitava de uma reforma, se não ele ia cair. Foi um laudo técnico dado pela construtora, que no máximo dois a três anos ele ia cair. Então nós não tivemos essa boa surpresa de pegar uma estrutura boa. Porém, um planejamento muito bem feito da prefeitura junto com a construtora, nós definimos que os comerciantes deveriam sair e a obra ser construída na sua integralidade, não feito por etapas”. Fato que reduziu o tempo das obras.

Desde o início do restauro, os comerciantes que ficavam na parte interna do Mercadão, estão em uma tenda montada ao lado da construção. Não é um ambiente confortável, nem atraente para quem frequenta, sem contar que, por não ter nenhum tipo de refrigeração, o local fica muito quente. O Imprensa Aberta ouviu alguns dos comerciantes que estão nessa tenda e, apesar desses contratempos, estão animados com o fim do restauro. Um deles disse que o término está previsto para novembro.

Na entrevista, realizada na secretaria de Turismo, questionamos o secretário sobre quais as reais mudanças que comerciantes, população e turistas verão no novo Mercado Municipal.
