Um dos ícones históricos de Itu é renovado após 114 anos
Na quinta-feira, 19, diante centenas de pessoas, entre elas, populares, empresários e figuras públicas, o prefeito Guilherme Gazzola entregou o Mercado Municipal revitalizado. O evento iniciou no fim da manhã, mas desde cedo funcionários da prefeitura e da empresa Concrejato – Serviços Técnicos de Engenharia -, que venceu a licitação para realizar a obra, davam os ajustes finais para a chegada dos convidados e autoridades.
O salão do Mercadão, como também é chamado, ficou repleto de pessoas mesmo antes da cerimônia começar, tanto por ituanos que sabiam da reabertura, quanto por turistas, curiosos, funcionários que trabalharam na obra, pela imprensa da cidade e região, comerciantes e autoridades públicas. Assim que o prefeito entrou no recinto, o alvoroço começou: as pessoas corriam até ele para garantir um aperto de mão, um abraço e aquela foto que não pode faltar. Empresários e comerciantes renomados da cidade também não perderam a oportunidade, assim como funcionários ligados à prefeitura.
No palco, junto ao chefe do executivo, estava a primeira-dama, Patrícia Müller, o vice-prefeito, Caio Gaiane, o secretário de Turismo, Lazer e Eventos, Vinícius Salton, o secretário de Planejamento, Plínio Bernardi Júnior, entre outros secretários e diretores municipais, o ex-diretor do Dadetur, Antônio Vaz Serralha (representando a Secretaria Estadual de Turismo), o presidente da Câmara dos Vereadores de Itu, Givanildo Soares da Silva, os vereadores Sérgio Castanheira, Normino José de Oliveira, Benedito Roque Moraes, Luciano Alves Ribeiro, Manoel Monteiro Gomes, Thiago Gonçales, o subprefeito da cidade de São Paulo e ex-secretário Estadual de Turismo, Fabrício Cobra Arbex, a deputada estadual Maria Lúcia Amary (representando o governador João Dória) e representantes da Concrejato. O valor do restauro do Mercado Municipal, projetado pelo escritório Ramos de Azevedo – do arquiteto Francisco de Paula Ramos de Azevedo – e inaugurado em 14 de maio de 1905, ficou em R$ 4.450.952,47. O prazo de entrega da revitalização era de 18 meses, o início foi em 29 de junho de 2018 e foi entregue em 19/12/2019.
Todo o investimento veio do Governo do Estado após acordo realizado entre a Prefeitura de Itu e o Departamento de Apoio ao Desenvolvimento dos Municípios Turísticos (DADETUR).
Comerciantes permanecerão na tenda por tempo indeterminado
Apesar da revitalização ter terminado, os comerciantes ainda ficarão na tenda montada na área externa. De acordo com o secretário de Planejamento Plínio Bernardi, há outras fases a serem cumpridas e não há uma data específica para o término. Desde o início, os comerciantes que estão na tenda estão isentos de taxas.
A obra em si
Em entrevista à Imprensa Aberta, em outubro, o secretário Vinícius Salton disse que o restauro do Mercadão era urgente: “A parte estrutural estava muito pior do que a gente imaginava. O Mercado Municipal necessitava de uma reforma, se não ele ia cair. Foi um laudo técnico dado pela construtora, que no máximo dois a três anos ele ia cair. Então nós não tivemos essa boa surpresa de pegar uma estrutura boa. Porém, um planejamento muito bem feito da prefeitura junto com a construtora, nós definimos que os comerciantes deveriam sair e a obra ser construída na sua integralidade, não feito por etapas”.
Além da parte estrutural, toda fiação elétrica foi trocada, a rede de água e esgoto foi renovada, os boxes dos comerciantes foram reestruturados e agora, além da rede de gás ser individualizada, o Mercadão terá cinco banheiros. Outras novidades que agradaram a todos foi a instalação do ar-condicionado central, o monitoramento por câmeras, a iluminação cenográfica. Antes, havia boxes para o lado de dentro e de fora. Agora, retomando à estrutura inicial, todos são voltados para dentro.
